Allergy & Asthma Specialists, PC is a dynamic, state of
the art Allergy/Clinical Immunology practice with seven
locations in Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. Dr. Robert
Anolik opened the medical practice now known as Allergy &
Asthma Specialists in February of 1989. Initially, Dr. Anolik
opened three offices to treat adults, children, and infants
with asthma, allergies, chest diseases, and recurrent
infections. In the years since opening, nine highly trained
Board Certified allergists have joined Dr. Anolik. Seven physicians are now
members of the Board
of
Directors. Also joining the practice are many registered
nurses and administrative personnel, bringing the total number
of staff to over 50. These 50 plus employees staff a total of
eight locations in Blue Bell, Jenkintown, Pottstown,
Lansdale, Doylestown, Collegeville, King of Prussia, and Center City Philadelphia. In 2003, all patient medical records were
converted to computer systems that allow
access to all patient information from any location via
high-speed communication lines. No paper medical records are
ever used.
This computerization of all patient information makes Allergy
& Asthma Specialists one of the most technologically advanced
medical practices in the United States.
The mission of this practice is to provide state of the art
medical care in a personal and caring environment emphasizing
the control of asthma and allergic diseases while avoiding
side effects from medications. The goal is to improve each
and every patient’s quality of life. Treatment begins with
comprehensive allergy testing and environmental control as the
first plan of action in order to decrease the need for
medications and control symptoms. Prescription medications
are closely monitored to assure positive results while
avoiding side effects. Allergy immunotherapy, or allergy
injections, is one of the most effective methods in treating
allergies and are prescribed for many of the patients. Allergy & Asthma Specialists is dedicated to advancements in allergy therapy and is the only allergy practice in the region offering sublingual immunotherapy.
In
addition to caring for patients, the physicians and staff of
Allergy & Asthma Specialists have also been proud to host many
community events. Over the years, the practice has hosted
events that provided their patients the opportunity to meet
Olympic and professional athletes with asthma. They have also
presented numerous lectures and workshops to schools, nurses
and other physicians, including the coordination of a Food
Allergy Support Group. Asthma screenings are often performed
at area schools and health fairs. A Research Department
opened in 1993. The research staff has been involved in nearly
70 research studies evaluating the most recently developed and
most effective medications available for their patients with
asthma and allergies.
It is easy to see that the
physicians and staff of
Allergy & Asthma Specialists truly aspire to …
